Let me ask you, are things just how you want them to be? Is your life what you want it to be? Are you being who you want to be – or who you believe you should be? For many of us, we have dreams and desires, ambition and aspirations, that haven’t been fulfilled yet. How about you?
You know, sometimes, you find yourself so far away from where you want to be, that it’s difficult to know what to do or where to start!
Start where you are!
Let’s face it, you can’t start anywhere else! Wherever you are right now, whatever you have, whatever you do: that’s giving you the results that you see and experience. It you were somewhere else, you would see and experience something else! So you have to start where you are!
The most important word in that phrase is “start!” If you don’t start out, you simply stay where you are. If you don’t start those dreams and desires, ambition and aspirations will simply remain unfulfilled. So – make a start!
Use what you’ve got!
Did you know that you have everything you need right now to make that start. You might think, “But I’m too old, too young,” or, “I don’t have enough money, talent, or resources.” Whilst that might be true in one sense, it was true for all those people who have achieved wonderful results in their lives. Take Thomas Edison – who invented the light bulb, for example. When he started out, he clearly didn’t have the talent – it’s said that he had around 2,999 attempts at inventing the light bulb before he succeeded. Just imagine, if he had given up after 2,000 odd attempts. How many times have you tried doing something, but have just given up because you failed? I bet it’s far less than 3,000 times!
Maybe you’re lacking in money? When Walt Disney dreamed of starting Disney World, he was reportedly turned down by 302 banks when he approached them for a loan – they said his idea “lacked originality!” He also filed for bankruptcy early in his career – as did Abraham Lincoln, Henry Ford and Donald Trump!
Whether you believe you have everything you need or not, you have a voice, you have arms and legs, and you have ambition – and that’s all that you need, if you make a start, and use what you’ve got!
Do what you can!
This is where the rubber hits the road, and the going gets tough! It’s where most plans fail. Just imagine Thomas Edison, when on his 2,342nd failed attempt had given up? But – no – he did what he could, and carried on. So if you have tried something a few times and didn’t get the results you expected – get up and try again! Do what you can. If you can do it once, you can do it again. If you can do it 100 times, you can do it 1,000 times, and you can keep going until it works – even if it takes 3,000 attempts or more! You can do what you can.
What will you do?
Will you make a start? Will you use what you have? Will you do what you can?
