Today is your day, your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!”
What mountain do you face today? You only have to wake up in the morning, and you face a challenge. In fact, it’s the most stressful thing you will do all day – wake up! More people die of natural causes in the early waking hours than at any other time of day.
So once you wake up, and get up, whatever you face ahead of you, you’ve been through the worst time! You’re still alive, aren’t you? And unless you have just woken up a few minutes ago and are still lying in bed – you’ve got past the worst time! You might still be in bed – that’s OK – you’re past the worst. So if you are past the worst – what are you going to do now?
What mountain do you face? Perhaps it’s a mountain of paperwork, bills, difficulties, challenges, ill-health, depression or sadness? Perhaps it’s a mountain of loneliness, despondency and despair? Whatever it is today, whatever mountain is waiting for you, the best thing you can do is to “get on your way” – get going!
It’s the same whether you are facing a real mountain or a different type of challenge. The only way you are going to get over it, the only way you are going to conquer it, is to get going.
One of the challenges I faced a few years back was “my Mad March Mighty Mountain Marathon!” This was a marathon in terms of the distance I had to travel; it was a totally mad challenge as I was planning on tackling it in the month of March, when the weather was not too great. It was a mighty challenge that was going to take me over fifteen of the highest mountain peaks in Snowdonia! The only way I was going to get close was to get up, and get going! I had to get on my way as early as possible, getting up at around 5AM in the morning to set off.
And that’s also the best way if it’s a different type of challenge that you face. The sooner you get going, the quicker you’re going to conquer your mountain.
We have a challenge right now – and at the time of writing, we have no idea whether we are going to achieve what we have set out to do. We are trying to raise awareness of our work by creating a Thunderclap! But we are “getting on our way” as we invite people to join us every day to help us raise awareness this way. If you are reading this before November 13th, 2017, you can help! Follow the link to our Thunderclap and click the link to support us with Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr!
And if you are facing a mountain today, today is your day. Get in touch – Contactus@daioni.org.uk if you would like us to help you “get on your way.”
